Dark Waters

Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water.

“Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “It is a shark!” The shark circled the water around them creating waves. Then in the distance you could see more fins coming closer to us.

"Wait!" Sam yelled. "Their not sharks, their dolphins,"

"Oh thank the lord," said Sarah.

The dolphins came closer the the children, and popped their heads out of the water. Sam stuck his hand out to pet the dolphin. And then we jumped into the water and the dolphins took them for rides through the water. Our pet cat loves water. He jumped in the water and started swimming with us.

"Ouch!" yelled Sam.

"What's wrong?" asked Sarah.

"I cut my foot on something!" said Sam.

"Let me see," said Sarah.

His foot was cut pretty bad, there was a rusty piece of metal floating by. The cut was really deep and he started to bleed. I hoped that there was no sharks that could smell the scent. We were out pretty far in the water, we started to swim back. It was harder for Sam so I swam slow with him.

"Is there any way you can swim faster?" asked Sarah.

"I'm trying to swim as fast as I can Sarah," said Sam.

At this point I was trying to swim fast and pull Sam with me. I knew if we swam faster we might be able to make it. We were leaving an awful big trail of blood now. I knew the sharks were on their way, I could already feel the waves getting bigger. We were closer to shore and we could touch the ground if we bounced, but that would just slow us down.

"We have to keep swimming!" yelled Sarah.

"I know, if we start slowing down, there is no way we can get to the shore," said Sam.

I checked behind us to check for any sharks. I could see in the distance coming our way were some fins.

"There coming Sam!" yelled Sarah.

"Hurry!" exclaimed Sam.

"You swim as fast as you can, I'll stay behind so you can get to shore," said Sarah.

"No, there's no way I'm leaving you behind!" yelled Sam.

"Just go!" exclaimed Sarah.

Sam kept swimming as fast as he could, he still was going pretty slow though. Sarah started to slow down and she saw the sharks were right behind her. So she started swimming, she knew there would be no way she would make it now. She looked ahead and she was so close to the shore. She saw Sam on the shore breathing so hard, he just fell to the ground. She saw their cat on the shore too. She was just happy that her brother made it back safe. All of a sudden she felt something slimy against her skin. And something chomped into her leg. She started screaming, and kicking the shark while trying to get away. Sam looked out to the water and started crying. Then she heard a whole bunch of splashes by her. The shark let go and Sarah started swimming as fast as she could to the shore. Sam came into the water to be ready to help his sister onto shore. She looked back and saw that the dolphins were attacking the sharks. She made it to shore and hugged her brother in relief, her leg had a lot of deep bite marks. It was bleeding really bad and it was all messed up. Her brother helped her to their cabin and their parents drove them to the nearest hospital in the next town. Sarah had to have from her knee down amputated, and she got a fake leg to use. She wouldn't be able to swim for a while. They gave her a waterproof leg so that when the time came she could go swimming again. She was very sad that she had to loose her leg, but she did it for her brother. Sarah got used to using the fake leg, it was a pain though. Sometimes she lost her balance and would fall down and knock stuff over. After almost a year she was back to how she was before, but just with a different leg.
