The Mystery Box
The box arrived in the mail and I wasn't sure I wanted to open it...
I thought I would wait till my parents got home, even though it was in my name. The box had no return address and it wasn't my birthday. My mind ran wild with curiosity of thoughts about the box both good and bad.
The good thing is the box didn't smell bad or move on its own. I paced back in fourth wondering who could have sent the box?
My grandmother from Montana, my aunt from Toronto, my uncle on the rail road? Who could it be? What could it be! I decided to just not think about it and go outside to go investigate the mails box where I found the package.
As I was walking to the mail box my neighbour Mrs. Lesnar came running over.
She said, " I hope u liked the figure skates my daughter katy gave to you?" I must have looked puzzled, "You did get them?" she said.
"Oh yeah, their great!" I lied.
I ran back home to rip open the box because now i knew that there was no bomb or any kind of explosives. And why there was no return address, Mrs. Lesnar just put the box in our mail box.

Alone at last
ALONE AT LAST!
Your parents just left on a week long vacation, leaving you home all alone. What do you do? Do you have a party? Play it safe? I decided to have a party I know that I could get in big trouble but that's only if I get caught. The next day at school I told everyone that there was a party at my house no one believed me they said I was to much of a goody goody to have a party when my parents are gone.
Chelsea went up to her best friend Mackenzie and says, "Hey do you want to come hang out at my house tonight because no one believes that there is a party at my house.

Where Does it End?
“You ever heard of the bridge to no where?” Henry asked.
"No, never, " Mary answered.
"Well, you've got to see it sometime!" exclaimed Timothy.
Mary headed home because it was getting pretty late. When she got home she wondered: "There is a bridge to no where?" She asked her mom, "Have you ever heard of the bridge to no where ?"
"No, I don't think so," her mom said.
Mary went to bed, and got up early the next morning. The phone rang and Mary jumped up to get it. After Mary got of the phone she hurried over to the Tracy's house because Fred, Timothy and Tracy were going to show her the bridge to no where.
"Hey guys!" Mary yelled.
"Mary," Tracy said "Come on, were going show you the bridge to no where!"
We finally got there 10 minutes later. Mary thought they were going to be lost, but turns out they know where to go. In the midst she saw a wooden bridge. "How long has the bridge been here?" Mary asked.
"We don't know, we were just taking a walk through the forest when we found this!" Fred exclaimed.
"We should see where it leads," Timothy said.
We started our walk on the bridge, when Mary started asking herself, "Where is this going to end? What if we get lost?" but she just kept going. 20 minutes later Mary and Tracy found a skull laying on the ground.
"We should get off of this bridge!" Tracy said worrying.
Mary said, "I agree."
"Fred and I are going to keep going," Timothy said.
Tracy and Mary ran and ran until they go off the brigde "I was really scared!" Mary said.
They kept walking until they got out of the forest, they waited for Timothy and fred to come back on a bench near by. They heard a big crashing sound with Fred and Timothy running out of the forest screaming. "What happened?" Mary and Tracy asked.
"The bridge broke, because of a big fat gorilla!" Fred said panting "I'm never going back there!"
"I think there is a reason that it is called the bridge to now where, so that you won't go on it" Tracy said.

The Grim Reaper
The box arrived in the mail and I wasn't sure I wanted to open it...
It was only a week after my parents death, and I wasn't socializing with anyone. This was the 3rd package I'd got from the same address: 224 King St. W. I haven't opened any of them, there's just something odd about all of them, for one thing, there isn't even a King Street here in Denver!
Here, let me fill you in on a little bit of my life. First of all my name is James Smith. I'm thirteen and have lived in Denver my whole life, and I loved my life. Until about a week ago..
My parents were mysteriously murdered, I witnessed the murder myself, now, you may think I'm crazy, but I know what I saw, and I saw the Grim Reaper. I know it was him, he was cloaked and had a large scythe. He sliced down my parents and left.
After wards, when the police were questioning me, I tried to tell them the truth, but they said I was crazy, and that I was just hallucinating. They asked me the appearance of the murderer, and when I told them he had a scythe, and a long black cloak. They shook they're heads and took me to the police station.
I'm now in a mental institute, until I can prove that I'm not crazy, and that's when the packages started coming.
I'm not sure what to do with them, they're all just sitting there in a corner, doing nothing. I threw this new package over there with them. I sat there doing nothing for about another hour, then I decided I may as well open them up. I opened the first package and this is what it said: "I'm coming to get you." That was enough to almost make me pee my pants. I opened the second parcel, and it said: "I'm getting closer and closer." I almost fainted after that one. Finally I got the third and last letter, and it said: "I'm here."
I screamed and turned around to run to the door, and there it was. Standing right infront of me, the hooded person with the scythe. His face was transparant, but I could see about five scars running down his face.
"Wh-who are you," I stuttered.
"I'm Death," it replied with a scary grin.

Hide and Seek
My legs were beginning to cramp as I sat motionless in my hiding place. I tried to slow my breathing, but I could hear my heartbeat drumming in my ears. I wondered if it could be heard in the deafening silence. I felt my calf muscle tighten painfully and as a reaction, I shifted my weight. The sound echoed and it was my fatal mistake…
Soon I began to here voices come closer to me and I could see a shadow that stopped right by where I was hiding. I held my breath so I would be as silent as I could be. There were two voices that I heard.
“Did you see her?” said a tall dark haired man. “No, she ran into these woods somewhere.”
As soon as they left I ran even further into the woods and wouldn’t stop running. It was hard to run because my leg was still a bit cramped but no matter what i still ran until I found a good hiding place to rest. While I was running I stopped in a open surrounding and then I blinked for a second then saw a pathway that led to an old, small house.
The house looked familiar like the one from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The crazy thing about this was that I was running from a guy that was sent to capture me but there was two.
"This is crazy. Am I in some like of fairytale or something," I thought. "But wait I started in my home when those guys came to my door so I can't be in a fairytale."
I heard some voices and ran into the little house to hide. When I turned around to find a better hiding place I noticed everything was small. I could not believe my eyes, and when I went upstairs there were seven beds with each one having a name on it. The seven names were: Cassidy, Brooke, Mackenzie, Chelsea, Carmen, Brittany, and Jorja. I heard a doorknob turning so I panicked and hid in a small closet downstairs. The door opened and I was able to see a bit through the crack in the door.

"Brooke how many flowers did we pick today," said Carmen.
"We picked 449 flowers today," Brooke replied.
"Hey look what I found outside by our door," Cassidy exclaimed.
"Okay then that makes 450 flowers we picked today," Brooke corrected.
My leg was starting to cramp once again from hiding. I tried moving my foot but then it hit something and made noise.
"Whoops. I hope they didn't ear that." I quietly said.
"Did you hear that Mackenzie? Where did it come from," Brittany asked.
I held my breath so I'd be as quite as I could. That didn't quite work out too well. Mackenzie opened the door to the closet then everything went absolutely silent.

The Wanted
My legs were beginning to cramp as I sat motionless in my hiding place. I tried to slow my breathing, but I could hear my heartbeat drumming in my ears. I wondered if it could be heard in the deafening silence. I felt my calf muscle tighten painfully and as a reaction, I shifted my weight. The sound echoed and it was my fatal mistake… I knew that they heard me, but i didn't have anywhere to go, I was cornered. There was nothing I could do. One of the Hunters went up to me and said:"He's over here, get him!" There was three of them, and they looked reallly tough, even though it pitch black outside I knew they were tough, their shadows were huge. Zaap! everything went black...
I woke up in a strange apartment, it looked like a poor apartment, ripped pillows, and no lights. Someone came into the room. "Room service," a young woman said. "Is everything ok?"
"Emm... Where am I?" I replied.
" You came here last night with a bunch of tough looking guys. One of them was carrying you beacause you were asleep." The young woman said.
" Oh, no I don't remember.. You still didn't tell me where I am." I said. As she was reaching over to grab some dirty clothes of the floor, I noticed a tattoo on her arm. It was the same tatoo that the Hunters had."Who are you?" I said quickly before she could answer. She didn't reply to that, something was wrong, all the sudden she dropped the pile of dirty clothes and she had a knife in her hand....

The Golden Dragon
I thought I’d never see him again, but here he was getting eaten by a small gold dragon! All I could hear was the crunching of his bones, there was a gulp and my brother was gone. The dragon knew I was hiding in the bush and started coming after me, so I ran as fast as I could to get to my car. I made it to the car with little time to spare and started my car. I was going 150 down a 50 road and when the cops stopped me I said "I was am getting chased by a evil Golden dragon."
"I can't believe the stories people come up with these days," Said the cop.
"No," I screamed. "He is coming right behind you!" The cop didn't believe me and as he was turning around to get into his car he got eaten by the dragon. The dragon ate the whole city.
As the dragon was eating the city he was saying "Bow before me and you will not get killed." of course no one believed that he was real so he ate everyone.
The one survivor was the me and I yelled, "And you thought dragons didn’t exist!"

My follower homed in on my position as if there were a huge purple flag above me.His steps caused loud echoes that made it difficult to judge his distance.I had to make a move before he got too close. Energy surged to my legs as I leaped out from behind my cover. The light pouring out of the cave's mouth made a dark outline of my follower. He raised his arms and lunged towards me with outstanding speed that seemed to fast for any normal person. Luckily I'm not anywhere near normal.
I threw my hand in front of me sending a beam of blue/green energy at my follower. It was just enough to throw him out of the cave. I stumbled towards the mouth of the cave half hoping that I would see my opposition laying in the bottom of a forceful crater but all that remained was black/red smudges where my follower should have been. there was no point trying to track him so I made off towards our camp.
Surely my father had held off the three soldiers that had been with my follower. "Are you ok?" my father said in a gruff but sturdy tone.
"I was about to ask you the same," I replied.
"Nah those so called soldiers were a bunch of wimps," replied my father.
I smiled at his words, everyone was a wimp compared to my father. He was nearly 7 feet high with legs like tree trunks. His dark grey beard was just about the only thing that made him look his age. That and his voice it was enough to make about half of our foes cower but if that didn't do the trick his long sword definitely would. It was passed down through our family Ever since my great great grandfather forged it. It was a shade of burnt gold that sparkled yellow at the right angle. With nothing else was said so we both prepared our tents.
A couple hours past midnight a small bump woke me up. My father was still in his tent so I quickly pulled out my sword. There was a slight hint of pink in the pitch black sky it made a faint glow that helped my make out the figure of a small bushy tailed creature.
The sound echoed and it was my fatal mistake.

I was tossed in the bedroom and when I looked under the bed I saw a trap door that lead to the bank. When I got out the police surround the hole and they followed the tunnel back to the house. The cops arrested the kidnappers and they went to jail for a long time. Later that day I was taken up to the police station and was asked a bunch of question. The cops were very happy that they caught them that they gave me a award for showing them the tunnel. The next day I went to buy groceries and I saw one of the kidnappers and then he started to run at me and I went and hid in the counter behind the pop. I stayed there all night.
"Get over here right now!"John said,"Don't make me start to shoot this place up."

"Does not matter your dead!!!!"yelled John.
"Hahaha!!"Said Bob,"Thats an awesome joke!"
The John spent the whole night looking for Bob.

Down By The Stream......
Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water. “Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “It is a shark!”
The shark jumped out of the water and onto the shore. Sam yelled ''HELP! Somebody! Anybody!''
Sarah called that paramedics because she knew something terrible was going to happen. Suddenly, I fainted and Sponge Bob, and Patrick popped out of no where and and started talking to me Sponge Bob said, ''That's not a shark Sammy boy, that's a catfish.''
Sam said, ''You, you, you talked!''
Sponge Bob replied, ''Yes, I did have you ever watched my show?.''
Then I heard Sarah yelling ''Get up Sam! Get up!''
I woke up and told her all about Sponge Bob and Patrick and then, I realized right in the middle of my sentence. It never happened! I stopped, finally the paramedics arrived and I only had a few cuts here and there. I was told I needed a few stitches but otherwise I was fine. Except maybe the fact they didn't realize I hit my head on a rock.
We finally arrived to the hospital when the doctor was asking me of what happened minute by minute while I was down by the stream.
I told the doctor, ''I thought it was a baby shark! But, when it came right up to me I realized it was a catfish. I hit my head on a rock when I fell.
the doctor said ''your going to need ice on your head, I'll be back in a minute.''
Sam felt way better after sitting in the hospital for an hour. We finally got to leave at around 3:30. Next time I know I'll be much careful when I'm by the stream.

Dark Waters
Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water.
“Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “It is a shark!” The shark circled the water around them creating waves. Then in the distance you could see more fins coming closer to us.
"Wait!" Sam yelled. "Their not sharks, their dolphins,"
"Oh thank the lord," said Sarah.
The dolphins came closer the the children, and popped their heads out of the water. Sam stuck his hand out to pet the dolphin. And then we jumped into the water and the dolphins took them for rides through the water. Our pet cat loves water. He jumped in the water and started swimming with us.
"Ouch!" yelled Sam.
"What's wrong?" asked Sarah.
"I cut my foot on something!" said Sam.
"Let me see," said Sarah.
His foot was cut pretty bad, there was a rusty piece of metal floating by. The cut was really deep and he started to bleed. I hoped that there was no sharks that could smell the scent. We were out pretty far in the water, we started to swim back. It was harder for Sam so I swam slow with him.
"Is there any way you can swim faster?" asked Sarah.
"I'm trying to swim as fast as I can Sarah," said Sam.
At this point I was trying to swim fast and pull Sam with me. I knew if we swam faster we might be able to make it. We were leaving an awful big trail of blood now. I knew the sharks were on their way, I could already feel the waves getting bigger. We were closer to shore and we could touch the ground if we bounced, but that would just slow us down.
"We have to keep swimming!" yelled Sarah.
"I know, if we start slowing down, there is no way we can get to the shore," said Sam.
I checked behind us to check for any sharks. I could see in the distance coming our way were some fins.
"There coming Sam!" yelled Sarah.
"Hurry!" exclaimed Sam.
"You swim as fast as you can, I'll stay behind so you can get to shore," said Sarah.
"No, there's no way I'm leaving you behind!" yelled Sam.
"Just go!" exclaimed Sarah.
Sam kept swimming as fast as he could, he still was going pretty slow though. Sarah started to slow down and she saw the sharks were right behind her. So she started swimming, she knew there would be no way she would make it now. She looked ahead and she was so close to the shore. She saw Sam on the shore breathing so hard, he just fell to the ground. She saw their cat on the shore too. She was just happy that her brother made it back safe. All of a sudden she felt something slimy against her skin. And something chomped into her leg. She started screaming, and kicking the shark while trying to get away. Sam looked out to the water and started crying. Then she heard a whole bunch of splashes by her. The shark let go and Sarah started swimming as fast as she could to the shore. Sam came into the water to be ready to help his sister onto shore. She looked back and saw that the dolphins were attacking the sharks. She made it to shore and hugged her brother in relief, her leg had a lot of deep bite marks. It was bleeding really bad and it was all messed up. Her brother helped her to their cabin and their parents drove them to the nearest hospital in the next town. Sarah had to have from her knee down amputated, and she got a fake leg to use. She wouldn't be able to swim for a while. They gave her a waterproof leg so that when the time came she could go swimming again. She was very sad that she had to loose her leg, but she did it for her brother. Sarah got used to using the fake leg, it was a pain though. Sometimes she lost her balance and would fall down and knock stuff over. After almost a year she was back to how she was before, but just with a different leg.
“Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “It is a shark!” The shark circled the water around them creating waves. Then in the distance you could see more fins coming closer to us.

The Big Purple Dragon
I thought I’d never see him again, but here he was... a BIG purple dragon. He was flying around like a bird in the sky except he was about 50 times the size as a sparrow. All the people around the town were wondering what it was. I was telling them it was a dragon but no one believed me. Then he came down and ate 3 people. Everyone was running in circles screaming like little girls, but I knew what to do! I ran home and hid in my basement. That didn't seem like the right thing to do so I ran and got the gun from the gun safe. I went at shot that dragon down and I stuffed it and put it in my backyard!
People asked " How did you manage to kill it?"
I said " I just shot him lots!"
They said " That is impossible! "
All I said was " It happened." ...and you thought dragons didn’t exist.

Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water.
“Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “ it is a person floating."
They picked the person up and they looked at her. They realized it was there best friend Brooke...
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " said Sam. "Shes dead!"
But what they didn't know was that every Saturday she goes floating down the stream. Sam ran. Then Brooke started to chase him.
Sarah said, "SAM WATCH OUT SHES AFTER YOU!"
They both screamed "Shes a ghost"
But really she was still a live.
They both yelled at her because they thought she was dead!
From that day on they never went back to the stream.

The Great Rescue
Sam felt the sun shining down on his shoulders while he sat happily by the stream. It was a perfect sunny day and luckily he was spending it with Sarah. Then, all at once Sarah pointed at the water.
“Look Sam!” Sarah exclaimed. “It is a....baby cat."
Sam yelled, "We have to go rescue it."
"But how in the world are we going to do that?" asked Sarah. "The water is very very deep here."
The two kids follow the baby cat as it floats down the river with no help.
" I wish we could find something so we could pull it out." sighed Sam.
They keep walking, and five minutes later Sarah yells...
"Look." she said " I found an old net!"
"Great, now we can pull the cat out." exclaimed Sam with excitement.
They carefully cast the net out into the river, but it missed the cat. They try again and this time they catch the cat and carefully pull it to shore.
"Can we keep him?" asked Sarah with hope in her voice.
"Let's do it." answered Sam."Were going to name it Bruce!"
"That's a great name. Let's go home." said Sarah
They take the cat, go home and live happily ever after with the cat.

The war
My legs were beginning to cramp as I sat motionless in my hiding place. I tried to slow my breathing, but I could hear my heartbeat drumming in my ears. I wondered if it could be heard in the deafening silence. I felt my calf muscle tighten painfully and as a reaction, I shifted my weight. The sound echoed and it was my fatal mistake. Enemy team heard me move and were advancing toward me. I fired off three shots and booked it through the trees. I ran under logs and ran up the hill. I got away just in time I saw base camp but it was at least half a kilometer away. That' s a long distance in war. I ran but I tripped over a fallen tree. I got up to find a flank from the enemy team.
Thank god they didn't notice me. I sneaked past them and got to base camp to see that everyone was gone. Either they were all dead or they went out to flank the enemy team. I got more ammo and a new gun. I got prepared for the worst I snuck out just to hear the enemies reach our base camp. They didn't hear me, so I figured that I would be able to sneak away.
I got back to the hill and saw there were three enemy flanks two going around the hill one on each side and the one at our base camp. Since everyone that I saw so far was going to my base camp I decided to go to there base camp and see if anyone was there.
I got to the enemy base camp and no one was there I was behind enemy line with no one to help me. Then all of a sudden I hear unfamiliar voices so I readied myself and slowly started walking toward the noises. It was right there what ever it was I looked behind the bushes to find three enemies I shot two but got shot in the helmet twice. I was out of the paintball war.

The Brass Clarinet
My legs were beginning to cramp as I sat motionless in my hiding place. I tried to slow my breathing, but I could hear my heartbeat drumming in my ears. I wondered if it could be heard in the deafening silence. I felt my calf muscle tighten painfully and as a reaction, I shifted my weight. The sound echoed and it was my fatal mistake…
Suddenly, the world around me erupted into a state of chaos. I knew my hiding place wasn't safe anymore so I jumped up, hidden behind a clump of trees and ran, ignoring the pain in my calf. I sprinted through the trees as fast as my legs could carry me ducking as different branches threatened to knock me over. I didn't know where I was going but I kept running. I could hear people yelling behind me and I knew guards must have been sent out to find me.
I couldn't keep running forever and I needed a new place to rest. About 30 yards to my left was a tree. From what I guessed it was about 100 feet tall with thick, sturdy branches. I turned and ran towards it. Jumping I managed to get my hands around a small branch. Using the momentum from running, I managed to swing myself around and land on a higher branch. From then, despite the constant pull from my half asleep calf. I started to climb. I was about 30 feet up when I heard the guards voices, forcing me to stop.
I couldn't make out what they were saying because of the pounding in my ears but I knew they were arguing. They kept pointing around which made me think they were looking for me. Suddenly, my foot slipped and I crashed to a lower branch. The guards looked up.

I couldn't make out what they were saying because of the pounding in my ears but I knew they were arguing. They kept pointing around which made me think they were looking for me. Suddenly, my foot slipped and I crashed to a lower branch. The guards looked up.
"Hey!" the first one called. "Come down here and hand over the clarinet, or we'll send someone up!" The second guard nodded, a scowl plastered on his face.
For the first time I remembered the backpack I had slung across one shoulder. Quickly, making sure the zipper was closed the full way, I repositioned it over both shoulders and continued to climb. When I though I was a safe distance up the tree I called down to them.
"If you want it, then come up and get it!" I kept my tone light and mocking. "Otherwise I think I'll keep it for a little while longer."
One of the guards yelled something again but I wasn't listening. I was searching for an escape route of some sort. Finally I spotted a crack against a boulder that could be used for a cave. I would have to wait for the guards to go away before I could head there. But would they leave soon?
I looked down to see where they were. They weren't there. I searched the whole area but I couldn't find them anywhere. I knew if I was going to move I had to do it now. Instead of risking the ground I jumped from tree to tree, occasionally slipping because of my calf which was starting to wake up.
Finally I reached the tree right in front of the cave and slowly climbed down the slender branches. When I reached the ground I dashed into the cave. Sitting down, I opened the backpack with shaky fingers. Inside I could see the clarinet. Made from pure brass, this was not an ordinary clarinet. All someone had to do was play a specific rhythm and they would have complete mind control over everyone in a three mile radius.
My job was to steal the clarinet and bring it to my boss, the president of the FBI. I was mainly on the squad because I was tiny and good at stealing things. Our job was to keep it away from people who would misuse it. I was just putting it back into the bag when the ground started to shake.
Pieces of rock and ash were falling down on me from the cave walls and ceiling. Coughing, I ran out into the open and felt the full impact of an explosion, sending me into the air. I landed with a thud under a tree. The backpack was lying about twenty feet away. I rolled over and tried to get up but my legs were aching. I had to crawl very slowly but I finally reached the bag. I had just grasped one arm of it when I felt it get ripped out of my hands. Through the smoke, I could just barely see the figure running away. As they ran I saw a piece of their jacket get ripped off onto a branch.
My head was starting to clear and I was able to walk again so I hurried over and looked at the ripped fabric. I could barely make out the letters but it defiantly said FBI. So I was just a pawn to them, they only wanted the clarinet. They were the ones that blew up the area. If I had died in the explosion they probably wouldn't have cared.
Only two things were clear in my head. Number one: The FBI had the clarinet. Number two: They were willing to have me killed in the process of getting it. The main question was still in my head. Now that they had it, what were they planning on doing with it?
I didn't want to move right away but I didn't want the guards to catch me. I decided to camouflage myself in the trees until I could move freely again. It went by slowly, but I finally managed to dig a tiny groove that would fit my body in it. Once I was lying down I pulled branches and leaves over top of me. I only hoped it would be enough to hide me.
I must fallen asleep because the next time I opened my eyes my head was cleared and I felt groggy. The stiffness in my joints seemed to have multiplied so it took me a while to sit up. I searched in my backpack for a few minutes before I remembered the clarinet was gone.
Finally I got enough energy to get up. I fell over a few times before gaining my sense of balance. Then I went in search of food. I couldn't find any berry bushes so I ripped off a piece of pine bark to chew on. It kept my mouth busy at least.
I knew my only way out of the forest was to go back to the same place I came in. I started back, following my old footprints which were starting to fade. I had been walking for about an hour when I reached the guards' building. I saw the broken windows and the burned roof and I knew the FBI must have stopped here before finding me.
I didn't bother trying to hide as I walked past. If there were any survivors they wouldn't be in any condition to stop me. I walked for another half hour before reaching the edge of the forest.
The nearest town was about five miles from here so I had to keep moving. I didn't want to risk hitchhiking because for one the FBI could be watching me. And besides, nobody picks up hitchhikers anyway.
